To start
a research request via mail, we ask you to send a check for $25.00. We can research only one surname at a time. Multiple surname searches can be confusing and cause delays. Your SURNAME fee includes a search of our library (two hours), a reasonable amount of photocopying, and return postage. If your request for information
requires more than the time allowed, we will contact you by letter and seek your authorization to proceed for an additional fee. The fee you pay is based on the time we spend to search, not on the results. While many searches produce results, some do not. You should understand that you might pay for a search that will not produce the information you want. We will make every effort to help you.
