| The
most recent addition to the Society's real estate holdings is a vacant
commercial building at 342-348 Northampton Street, familiarly known as the
Sigal Building, in recognition of its previous owner. The building
will be reconfigured and designed to become the answer to NCHGS's serious
display and storage problems. The
Sigal building contains a total of 24,000 square feet on the first and
second floors. An open empty basement of 10,000 square feet will
provide storage space. It
is the Society's intention to retain ownership of the Mixsell-Illick
buildings and restore and furnish Mixsell as a house museum. |
