the United Way and NCHGS.

Ned Heindel,

Professor of
Chemistry at Lehigh University, Ned's a vocational publications on local
history include Pennsylvania Dutch folk medicine (powwowing), homeopathy,
the Carter Junior Republic, the iron-making community of Redington, and
the canal town of Uhlersville. He has served on the boards of the
Chemical Heritage Foundation, Keystone College, the American Chemical
Society, and the Council for Chemical Research. He has served
several terms on the NCHGS board. |

Beall Fowler, Secretary

Professor
emeritus of Physics, Lehigh University, Beall still researches defects in
semiconductors. He chaired the department, was a visiting fellow at
Oxford U. and U. of Parma. A member of the American Assn. for the
Advancement of Science, he earned awards for teaching and research.
He has served and serves on numerous community and non-profit boards in
the area including Historic Bethlehem Partnership. |

Chris learned
the family guitar business from the ground up, beginning as apprentice,
learning the details of hand-crafting acoustic guitars, earning a degree
from UCLA and the Boston University School of Management to prepare him
for the business side of Martin Guitar Co., and rising to Chairman of the
Board and CEO. He became an expert at team management. He
travels extensively to stay abreast of trends and to offer instructional
clinics. |

prior to that, director of the library at Dickinson College, Dorothy has
been a member of the NCHGS board for eight years and president since
2002. Holding B.S., M.L.S., and M.L.A. degrees from Bucknell,
Columbia, and Johns Hopkins, she has been active in the Pennsylvania
Library Association and is a member of the Easton chapter, A.A.U.W. |
